Collingwood Man Charged In Armed Robbery

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP have arrested a Collingwood man in Oshawa after a robbery at a gas station early Friday morning.

The OPP says officers were called to the Esso gas station in Collingwood at around 1:50am, after a male told staff he was armed while requesting cash and cigarettes.

Police say the man left the scene with an undisclosed amount of both cash and cigarettes.

With assistance from Durham Regional Police Service, police say they were able to locate the male in Oshawa.

38-year-old James Gallacher faces two robbery-related charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
