Parent Pleased With Avon Maitland's French Immersion School Investigation

A spokesperson for parents asking the Avon Maitland District School Board to provide French Immersion in Huron County is satisfied with what the board has done so far.

The parents made a presentation to the board earlier this month and have received a response.

The board has agreed to examine the potential for expanding the French Immersion program, specifically focusing on staffing, transportation, alternatives to French Immersion and the process the board looked at for Stratford.

Dana Morgenroth explains they now have about 82 interested parents and admits they're spread out throughout the county so they recognize transportation is going to be an issue.

She says they're pleased the board is looking into it and also looking at what might potentially be the best location for French Immersion, if they decided to go ahead.
