Goetz submitted his resignation last night to council.
He recently became a new business owner, and felt he did not have the time or commitment required for the councillor of Ward 3.
Goetz thanked residents, staff, and fellow council members for their support.
Township staff will prepare a report for council on the steps required to fill the vacant seat.
