Huron Bruce Federal NDP Candidate Nomination Meeting Tonight

The two declared candidates for the NDP nomination in the federal Huron-Bruce riding take to the microphone tonight in Goderich for the nomination meeting.

Kincardine resident Jan Johnstone is a social worker, who ran as the Huron Bruce NDP candidate in the 1997 federal and 2014 provincial elections. She has also been with the Bluewater District School Board for many years as a trustee, as chair, and as the Ontario Public School Boards Association representative.

Gerard Creces is from the Zurich area, and is currently a reporter for the Goderich Signal Star and the Clinton News Record.

Tonight's NDP nomination meeting is at the MacKay Centre in Goderich. It's located at the corner of Nelson and North streets, one block off the Square. It starts at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
