Drugs and Weapons Seized in Stratford

A Stratford man is facing over 20 criminal charges after drugs and weapons were seized from a residence in the city.

The Stratford Police Street Crime Unit and the Emergency Response Unit executed a warrant Wednesday evening at a residence in the 100 block of Burritt Street in the city.

Police found methamphetamine, marihuana, hash oil, and a large amount of prescription medication. The seized drugs had a total value of over $3000. Numerous weapons and a small amount of cash were also confiscated.

A 36-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were arrested at the residence.

The man was taken into police custody and faces 9 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, 9 counts of possession of a substance, 2 counts breach of recognizance, 2 counts breach of probation, assault police and resist arrest.

Stratford city police say the investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
