Call To South Bruce OPP Leads To Cross County Flight Diversion

The South Bruce OPP Detachment had a hand in alerting a cross Canada flight about a potential bomb threat.

Authorities say they received information of an alleged explosive on WestJet flight 391 that was travelling from Halifax to Edmonton yesterday.

That plane was diverted to Saskatoon's John Diefenbaker Airport where 147 passengers and crew were safely taken off the plane.

Saskatoon Police was brought in to investigate the aircraft with their explosives unit. South Bruce OPP under the Criminal Investigation Branch continue to investigate the origin and credibility of the call.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
