Goderich Joins Huron Economic Development Strategy

Goderich council has approved the town's participation in Huron County's Economic Development Strategy.

The town's Economic Development and Tourism Co-ordinator James Cox explains he'll be working with a local team to put together an economic development strategic plan for Goderich.

They'll be doing that in conjunction with similar teams from all of the other lower-tier municipalities and the county to make sure that everyone's on the same page and there is no duplication.

Cox adds it's a four step process, starting with a shared regional vision as well as how the local vision fits within the regional vision. They will then work on developing specific goals and objectives and a way of measuring their success in that; and then the final stage .... implementing the plan.

They want to have the plan in place by October so that all of the councils can include that in their budget deliberations.
