Racial and Homophobic Slurs Sprayed-Painted on Walls in Goderich

Huron OPP are investigating after racial and homophobic slurs, including a swastika, were spray-painted on three separate buildings in Goderich.

Police were notified of the damage this morning in the southeast section of town.

Police say the following buildings were defaced:

  • A northeast exterior wall of the Goderich-Huron YMCA located on Suncoast Drive East.
  • The rear exterior wall of Sleep Matters located at a commercial plaza located on Suncoast Drive East.
  • A small storage shed located at the Windsor Salt property located on Huron Road.
Police say the messages also contained an unflattering message for police in brown, black and pink spray paint.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
