Huron County's Heritage Fund Drained For Year

Huron County's Heritage Fund has exhausted its funding for the current year.

The County provides $25,000 every year for heritage projects and the heritage committee accepts applications every May and November.

"We usually have two intakes," Cultural Services Director Meaghan Wark tells CKNX News, "One in May and one in the beginning of November. A couple of times over the last few years, we've received so many applications for the funds that all of the funds are allocated after the first intake."

Wark adds if the applications in May take all of the money, people applying for funding in November will have to apply again the following May when more money is put into the fund.
