UPDATE: Newry Road Reopens After Morning Collision Near Ethel

Huron OPP have reopened Newry Road ay Krauter Line after an early-morning collision just east of Ethel sent three people to hospital.

The two-vehicle crash was reported just before 6:00 this morning at the intersection of Newry Road and Krauter Line in Huron East.

A preliminary investigation by Huron OPP determined that a pickup truck travelling south on Krauter Line entered the intersection and collided with another pickup that was eastbound on Newry Road.

The lone occupant of the eastbound pickup truck, 47-year-old Stephen Machan of Brussels was airlifted to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The two occupants of the southbound pickup were treated for minor injuries in a local hospital.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
