New Funding For Trees For Minto

When the province shut down county land stewardship councils, the Wellington Stewardship Council was left with $20,000 in its bank account.

Tuesday, stewardship council member Mark Van Patter presented a cheque for half of that amount to the Trees for Minto program.

The other half will go to a project in Puslinch Twp.

Van Patter said the money can go a long way in Minto's tree-planting program considering free trees are available from Wellington County's Green Legacy Program.

" We can use these trees as a beautification of our area to showcase our great town for when people come to visit IPM 2016," says Minto Acting Mayor Ron Faulkner.
