17-Year-Old Airlifted To Hospital After Buggy And Pickup Collide In Grey Highlands

A 17-year-old Grey Highlands male is in hospital with serious injuries after the horse-drawn buggy he was operating was struck by a pickup truck on Monday morning.

Grey County OPP say they were called to the collision on East Back Line, east of Road 190, at about 7:42am.

Investigators say the single-axle horse-drawn vehicle was travelling eastbound when the horse suddenly turned into the path of the westbound 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Both occupants of the horse-drawn vehicle, a 17-year-old male and a 25-year-old man, were ejected from the vehicle.

The 17-year-old was airlifted to London hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. The 25-year-old suffered minor injuries.

Neither of the two occupants in the pick-up truck sustained injuries.

OPP officials say the horse suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

No charges have been laid in the case.
