Owen Sound Residents Evacuated During Apartment Fire Can Now Return

Owen Sound firefighters have now left the scene of a fire at Victoria Towers on 9th St. W.

A fire started last evening in an electrical panel on the second floor, filling the main hallway with smoke.

The building owners, Crich Holdings, now have care of the building.

The elevator, hall and stair lighting are now working, but power to apartment units will have to wait until the damaged panel is replaced .

The Electrical Safety Authority is one site and there is a fire watch in place until the electrician completes repairs to the panel.

The units all have battery powered smoke alarms.

Evacuated resident can now return home. Crich holdings will cover the cost of hotel rooms if residents would prefer to wait until power is restored.
