Speeding To The Lake Huron Sunset Costly Mistake

Lake Huron sunsets are world famous, but they're not worth speeding for.

A 25-year-old Windsor woman has been charged for racing after she was stopped by police on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway near St. Joseph.

A Huron County OPP officer observed a Chevrolet Cruze travelling at a high rate of speed. His radar device measured the vehicle's speed at 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

When stopped by police, the driver indicated she was speeding in order to get to the cottage in time to see the sunset.

Her licence has been suspended for seven days and her car will be impounded for the week. She's to appear in Goderich court in September.
