Huron-Kinloss Receives Funding For Whitechurch Water System

Huron-Kinloss is getting some federal cash to help replace the Whitechurch water distribution system.

Government officials have confirmed that the municipality was successful in their Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program application, which will see $190,000 go towards the project.

Municipal staff initially hoped to receive funds to cover half of the $800,000 project when they applied in June.

The project would see the community's water distribution system replaced and Whitechurch Street resurfaced.

Projects using Canada 150 funding must be completed by March of 2018.
