Collision Involving Motorcycle Near Exeter Claims One Life

A collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle just south of Exeter claimed one life and sent another person to hospital with major injuries.

Provincial Police say it happened around 10:00 last night at the intersection of London Road, Highway 4 and Crediton Street. Police say a Dodge Pickup truck and trailer turned left onto London Road and into the path of the motorcycle. The bike hit the truck and trailer and became wedged between them.

The 62-year-old man operating the motorcycle, Don Horwood of London, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 59-year-old passenger, Donna Horwood was taken to London hospital with major injuries.

The 57-year-old Wingham man driving the pickup was charged with failing to yield and failing to surrender his license. He is due in Goderich Court, September 15th.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
