Mapleton Township Responds To Tornado

Township of Mapleton Council held a Special Meeting of Council Tuesday to discuss the Township’s response to Sunday's tornado.

Councillors have passed a resolution that waives building permit fees for the repair or replacement of structures damaged or lost during the storm.

Mapleton residents may also drop off tree and branch debris from the August 2, 2015 storm at no charge at the Moorefield Public Works yard located at 3 Hilwood Drive in Moorefield until August 14, 2015.

The Township has been advised by Environment Canada that residents with damage on one or more structures within their property are recommended to have other structures on their property assessed by a qualified structural engineer to determine extent of damage, if any, as some damage to structures may not be visually obvious.
