"Tragic Weekend On West Region Roads": OPP

Provincial police have released figures that support what they are calling a "tragic weekend on West Region roads".

Two separate motorcycle collisions in Huron County on Sunday claimed the lives of three people.  Another person on one of the bikes remains in serious condition in a London hospital.   In both cases, the motorcycles were hit by vehicles.

OPP officers also found a lot of weekend drivers were in a hurry. In the West Region alone, police laid 979 Speeding charges, and 15 Racing charges. Across the province, over 45-hundred drivers were charged for Speeding or Racing.

18 drivers in the West Region were stopped and charged with Impaired; 33 for Distracted Driving; 42 for No Seatbelt; and 105 for Fail to Move Over For Emergency Vehicles.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
