Stolen Vehicle Left Behind In Atwood Car Theft

A car thief in Perth County pulled the ol' switch-a-roo at an address near Atwood, stealing an SUV and leaving another stolen vehicle behind.

Police were dispatched to the rural address Wednesday night after the resident heard noises in their driveway. When they went to check out the sounds they discovered their vehicle was missing and another was left on the property.

The vehicle taken is described as a brown 2011 Chevy Equinox with the plate number 347YTW.

When the OPP arrived they discovered that the SUV left behind in the theft was also stolen - a 2014 Ford Explorer taken the day prior in Hesson.

This is the 16th vehicle theft in Perth County in 2015. Anyone with information in the thefts is asked to contact OPP.
