Logging, Chainsaws, And Birds Of Prey At Wingham Complex

The parking lot of the North Huron Wescast Community Complex will be full of logging equipment and chainsaws Saturday for the third annual Mike McGlynn Memorial Day.

McGlynn was a young man from the Teeswater-area who died in a logging accident near his home in December 2012.

The Mike McGlynn Memorial day includes demonstrations by the Hydro One and Fleming College Logging Teams, crosscut and chainsaw competitions, a kids area, a pie-eating contest, and a Birds of Prey show.

There's also a dunk tank, Log For Charity, three-wheeler Show and Shine, and live and silent auctions. Saturday night, there's an Age of Majority dance on the arena floor.

Money from all the events will be going to the Wingham and Walkerton hospitals, Wes-4-Youth on-line, the Mike McGlynn Memorial Scholarship, and several other local charities.

Additional information can be found at www.mikemcglynnmemorial.ca/index.html or from the Mike McGlynn Memorial Facebook page.
