Aggressive, Disqualified Driver Charged In Markdale

Seven people had to find another way to their destination after the vehicle they were in was pulled over Sunday by Grey County OPP.

Police had received a report of an aggressive driver northbound on Highway 10.

The suspect vehicle was stopped on Highway 10 just south of Main Street in Markdale.

The officer saw seven occupants in the vehicle which only had five seatbelts.

Two children, age 6 and 8, were sitting on the laps of two adults in the rear passenger seats.

Investigation revealed that the driver was disqualified from driving due to an impaired driving conviction in May this year.

The 29-year-old Scarborough driver was charged with driving while disqualified under the Criminal Code (CC).

He was also issued two, Part III Summons, for driving while passenger under 16 fails to occupy position with seatbelt under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on September 10, 2015.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
