110 Calves Killed In Dorking Barn Fire

110 veal calves perished in a barn fire east of Listowel yesterday.

Mapleton Fire Chief Rick Richardson tells Blackburn News firefighters were called to the blaze about 1:15pm yesterday near Dorking.

The barn on Wellington Rd. 10 was destroyed.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly ensured the propane and gas were not a danger. They managed to save the outer buildings.

Four fire stations were on the scene.

No damage estimate is available yet, and no word on what caused the blaze.
