Meaford Volunteers Start Making Scarecrows

Anyone who enjoys a creative challenge is invited to drop by the Meaford Harbour Pavilion tonight.

It's the first of three 'scarecrow making workshops' by members and volunteers with the Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival.

Head Scarecrow Marilyn Morris says the theme this year is Scarecrows Celebrate the Year of Sport, so the scarecrows will be dressed as runners, swimmers, high jumpers, skiers and other athletes.

Tonight's workshop is from 6pm to 8:30pm at the pavilion. The second workshop is Thursday morning from 9am to noon.

A third scarecrow making workshop will be next Wednesday, August 19, from 9am to noon, also at the Harbour Pavilion in Meaford.
