Bluewater And Central Huron Secure Audience At Provincial Meetings

A joint delegation from the municipalities of Bluewater and Central Huron has set up several high-level meetings next week at the AMO Conference in Niagara Falls.

Confirmed meetings include one with the minister of agriculture, food, and rural affairs; one with the minister of tourism, culture, and sport; and one with Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown and the PC Municipal Affairs Critic Ernie Hardeman.

Bluewater Mayor Tyler Hessel states in a news release that meetings are an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing small municipalities.

The delegation also wants to promote the shared services arrangement between Bluewater and Central Huron that has become a model of inter-municipal cooperation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
