Goderich Mayor Discusses Rail Service At AMO Conference

Goderich Mayor Kevin Morrison says he's had some interesting conversations with councillors regarding rail service in Southwestern Ontario while attending the AMO Conference in Niagara Falls.

Morrison explains one of those conversations involved two councillors from London who suggested Goderich and other municipalities in Huron County could work together to get better transportation throughout southwestern Ontario.

Morrison adds that would work well with the current effort to save VIA Rail in the area and points out that better transportation is a serious issue in Huron but Huron alone isn't going to get the attention of the province.

Morrison adds collaboration seems to be a popular theme in Huron County right now with several municipalities working together where there are common interests and the county working with its partner municipalities on economic development.
