High E.coli Counts at Many Huron County Beaches This Week

High E.coli levels continue to plague many Huron County beaches. Huron County Beach Info says testing has resulted in no swim advisories for Goderich St. Christopher's Beach and St. Joseph's Beach. The provincial standard for a safe level of E.coli is below 100, but St. Joseph's tested at 1000, while St. Christopher's tested at 609. The tests were completed earlier this week and further tests will be done today. Other beaches including Amberley, Goderich Main, Rotary Cove, Port Albert, Bayfield South, and Hay Township all tested over 100 . Only five of the beaches tested were below the provincial level. Huron County Beach Info says if the water is clear, and it hasn't rained in the past 48 hours, then the water should be safe. E. coli levels on August 17, 2015
