Applying For Money For Wingham Theatre

North Huron Council is expected to approve an application for Ontario Trillium Foundation Funding for the town Hall Theatre Renovation project.

The agenda for Monday evening's meeting includes a resolution to apply for $60,000. funding for the $120,000 project. The deadline for capital project applications is September 2. The township will also consider releasing $2,500 from the town Hall Theatre reserve account for a structural engineer to further investigate the scope of work needed, and the cost to support the proposed Heating,Ventilation and Air conditioning units on the roof.

Last Month, the Wingham Town Hall Theatre Committee told council they could have the facility open by next spring if they can secure funding.

The theatre needs new fire doors, sprinklers and heating and cooling systems.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
