Owen Sound Summerfolk A Success

Some of the biggest crowds ever enjoyed Owen Sound Summerfolk over the weekend.

The Festival started Thursday night with a special 40th anniversary celebration and wrapped up last night.

Georgian Bay Folk Society President Phil Bye says the comments he got were all positive, from the patrons the performers and the artisans.

He says it's a great family event.

"This year we made a decision to let kids in for free with an adult and that was very well received. We're really trying to put some walk behind the talk in terms of being a family oriented festival,' said Bye.

Bye says final attendance figures aren't in yet, but he estimates between 12 and 13-thousand people attended Owen Sound Summerfolk over the weekend.
