Bluewater Passes Grand Bend Sewer Costs To Some Residents

Residents of Dashwood and the southern portion of Hay Township in Bluewater are going to be charged for their share of the cost of the engineering work and environmental assessment involved in joining the Grand Bend Sewage Treatment project.

Bluewater has not yet joined the project but that option is still open.

But engineering work and an environmental assessment was done and Deputy Mayor Jim Ferguson explains the fee for those services has never been paid or billed to anyone.

Council decided at a special council meeting earlier this week that it should be billed to the people who stood to benefit from the reports and pointed out those reports are still valid if Bluewater opts to join the project.

The cost to affected residents will be $17 a month and that will be billed quarterly with property taxes.
