International Growth In Local School Board

The International Education Administrator for the Avon Maitland District School Board says enrollment for international students is up significantly this year.

Steve Howe says this is the fourth year the board has sought international students and they now have 190 students ready to attend for the first semester.

"We now have students from eight different countries that are coming in the door September 8," says Howe. "The communities have come forward and embraced this whole new experience for many."

The students are spread out among the nine secondary schools in the Avon Maitland District School Board.
