Seven Hospitalized After Fiery Crash In Georgian Bluffs

Seven people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The Grey County Ontario Provincial Police says on Sunday around 4:38pm, a Jeep vehicle travelling north on Hwy. 6/10 merged into oncoming traffic and clipped a southbound Volkswagen, before colliding head-on with a southbound Mercedes. The Jeep caught fire following the crash.

A total of nine people were involved in the collision and seven were taken to hospital. Police say their injuries are reportedly serious but non-life threatening.

Hwy. 6/10 between Grey Rd. 18 and Sunny Valley Rd. was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing and witnesses are asked to to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
