Bayfield-Area Water Debt Rolled Into System

Bluewater council has decided to roll the remaining debt for supplying water to the north end of Bayfield into the system for all of the village.

Deputy Mayor Jim Ferguson explains residents of Harbour Lights and Carriage Lane incurred a significant debt in getting water to that area, but because it's now part of the entire system, council felt the debt should also belong to the entire system.

Ferguson adds the wells that were being used are no longer required, but they could be left for residents to use for things like washing their vehicles or watering their lawns.

Some councillors were concerned about contamination to the entire system, so they felt the wells should be de-commissioned.   That decision has not been made.
