The City of Owen Sound is seeking volunteers and community partners to help celebrate a pair of important anniversaries in 2017.

Owen Sound will turn 160, while Canada is set to become 150 years old.

Officials are looking for two volunteers to serve on the Ad Hoc Committee and any potential community groups and organizations who would be interested in partnering with the committee.

The city has set a deadline for application forms and potential partner interest for September 15.

The 2017 celebration will also include the 50th Anniversary of the Tom Thomson Art Gallery and 100th Anniversary of Billy Bishop receiving the Victoria Cross.
