Boy Injured In Fall at Conservation Area Near Rockwood

A young boy remains in stable condition in a Hamilton hospital today after falling from a cliff at the Grand River Conservation Area in Rockwood.

Just before 5:00 Sunday afternoon, the Guelph-Wellington EMS, fire department, and the OPP were informed of the incident.

They found that a seven-year-old boy had been playing with his younger brother on a rock cliff, when he lost his footing and fell about 30 feet to a gravel path below.

The boy was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital and then transferred to a Hamilton Hospital in critical condition.

His condition has improved slightly since then.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
