Perth Residents Exercise More And Weigh More Than The Ontario Average

Perth District Health Unit has released the 2014 Annual report which compares the health status of Perth County residents with provincial averages.

A chart looks at things like smoking, drinking and physical activity.

59 per cent of Perth County residents perceive their mental health as good or excellent, compared to a 70 per cent provincial average.

19 per cent of Perth County residents are heavy drinkers compared to 16 per cent provincially.

More Perth County residents get the right amount of exercise, fruits and vegetables, than the average Ontario resident.

63 per cent of residents are overweight, compared to a 55 per cent average in the province.

Smoking rates are the same.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
