Election Signs Damaged In Perth County

Perth County OPP officers are investigating after a small number of election signs and support posts were damaged between Shakepeare and Stratford.

Police say the damage is not specific to one particular candidate within Perth County.

The latest incident was reported last Thursday.

Perth County OPP would like to hear from anyone with information regarding the damage of signs along Highway 7&8 between Stratford and Shakespeare, or who witnessed the theft or damaging of posted election signs within Perth County.

The OPP reminds the public that it is a criminal offence to damage or tamper with election signs.

Anyone doing so without authority could be criminally charged with theft under $5,000 or mischief under $5000, and have to attend court to answer to their charge.
