Nothing Found During Lake Huron Search Near Southampton

Searchers looking in the waters of Lake Huron near Southampton Saturday found no clues about a flare spotted on the horizon early that morning.

The Saugeen Shores Fire Department and the coast guard were called about the possible flare, but failed to find anything.

There have been no distress calls or reports of missing persons.

The search is being described as due diligence.

Searchers believe it was either a false sighting, or someone messing around with a flare gun.
