Owen Sound Police Arrest Brockton-Area Man

Owen Sound police have arrested a Brockton-area man and recovered a stolen motorcycle as well as drugs and cash.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Branch were conducting observations for drug activity in Owen Sound Monday when they noticed a man conceal a motorcycle with no plate near an east side residence then leave the area on foot.

The officers continued surveillance and discovered that the motorcycle had been reported stolen from the Kitchener-Waterloo area last year.

The man was arrested, and officers then found about $2,000 worth of methamphetamine, a significant amount of cash, digital scales, drug packaging and oxycodone.   The motorcycle was recovered from the concealed location.

A 30-year-old Brockton-area man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing Tuesday.

He is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a controlled substance - Oxycodone.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
