August Sales Up For Southern Georgian Bay Realtors

Realtors across the south Georgian Bay area took advantage of the August sunshine and warm weather to sell an impressive number of homes.

Real estate agents with the South Georgian Bay Association of Realtors, which includes Meaford and Grey Highlands, sold 297 homes last month, up about 5% from August 2014.

Association President Kevin Woolham says August’s home sales were also the best since 2009.

"This was the third highest level of any August on record," says Woolham.

The South Georgian Bay Association of Realtors’ western district is comprised of six municipalities. They are: Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview Township, The Blue Mountains, Grey Highlands and Meaford.

The association’s eastern district includes Midland, Penetang and surrounding communities such as Honey Harbour, Port Severn and Elmvale. Realtors in the eastern district sold 102 homes last month.

"This was a 6.3% increase over August 2014 and just above the five year average," says Woolham.
