Huron Chamber of Commerce Accepting 2015 Award Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted by the Huron Chamber of Commerce for top businesses in the community.

The 2015 Spirit of Success Awards recognize businesses, owners and staff who do great work every day in our community.

There are eight award categories that recognize all areas of business.

Nomination forms are online at www.huronchamber.ca/pages/SpiritofSuccess2015/.

The completed form can be emailed or sent through Canada Post by October 16th.

Winners will be announced at the awards gala on Saturday, November 14th at The Legion in Goderich.

Awards nomination categories include: Goderich Signal Star Community Impact Award; Richard Lehnen Young Entrepreneur Award; The SBEC New Business Award; MicroAge Basics Service Award; TD Environmental Awareness Award; Tourism Goderich Hospitality Business Award; and Zehrs Goderich Retail Business Award. The Huron Chamber of Commerce - Goderich, Central and North Huron will present the Business of the Year Award.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
