8 year Old Suffers Life Altering Injuries at St. Marys Farm

An 8 year old St. Marys area boy is being treated in London for life-altering injuries after he was caught in an operating corn harvester.

About 5pm Friday, the 66 year old operator of the tractor was pulling the harvester, and a wagon when he noticed the harvestor head stopped working.

When he looked out the back window he saw the child caught in the head.

The incident happened at a farm on Line 12 north of St. Marys.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour was called in to investigate this tragic incident.

Police remind people to always be vigilant around farm equipment, and keep children away.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
