Goderich Woman Asks For Better Maintenance of Dog Park

A Goderich woman who uses the town's dog park on a regular basis has asked the town to form a dog park committee to organize maintenance in the dog park.

Linda Shantz says the dog park is used year-round and probably by about thirty people every day during the summer. She believes it's a great asset for dog owners in the community but maintenance has become an issue.

She explains the latest issue was a lawn mower that caused some holes in the fencing and allowed dogs to get into the water treatment plant.

Shantz adds the gates to the park are a problem in the winter because they don't close properly and someone has to hold them so the dogs can't get out.

Goderich council asked her to provide a list of all of her concerns to staff and council and they'll try to address them.
