Charges Laid In Road Rage Incident In Meaford

Police laid charges after a case of road rage in the Meaford area.

The Grey County OPP says a motorist in a GMC envoy was driving erratically and passing unsafely on Hwy. 26 westbound from Thornbury.

Police says the driver of a Honda Civic confronted the person in the Envoy about his driving behavior.

Then the driver of thee Envoy tailgated the Honda until it stopped at the intersection of Sykes St. and Nelson St. in Meaford.

After another exchange of words, the GMC struck the Honda's left bumper, went around the car, and through a red light.

Police stopped it up the road.

Mitchell McColough, 26, of the Town of Blue Mountains has been charged and has a court date in Owen Sound on October 29.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
