Soup Luncheon Raises Money For Hunger Relief Effort

Hundreds of people turned out for lunch in Owen Sound to help those who don't always have enough to eat. The third annual Soup Luncheon Fundraiser was put on by the Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort, known as OSHARE.

It's a collective of church groups and other community organizations that help the less fortunate.

Organizer Peggy Moulaison says the effort is much needed.

"We're feeding up to 100 120 people a night right now and that's all ages all groups families children so there is a need in our community," says Moulaison.

She says last year, they raised over $2,000 at the Owen Sound fundraiser and expects to raise at least that much with this year's event.
