Annual Bannockburn Hike Coming Up Sunday

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has added a couple of new features to this year's annual Bannockburn Fall Hike.

The Bannockburn Hike is a tradition more than four decades old.

Conservation Educator Denise Iszczuk they're celebrating 2015 as the International Year of Soils.

They've included some soils-related activities like a scavenger hunt as well as discussions about the importance of soil.  They have added three guided tours this year starting at 1:00,  1:30 and 2:00 p.m.from the parking lot at Bannockburn.  Hikers are welcome to join one of the tours or hike on their own.

The Bannockburn Fall Hike will be held Sunday, October 4th from 1:00 to 3:00.

The Bannockburn Conservation Area is located between Varna and Brucefield off Mill Road or County Road 3 in Bluewater.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
