Brockton Soccer Fundraisers Meet Goal

Fundraising for the new Brockton Soccer Complex is meeting with success.

A report to council says the combination of pledges and contributions totals over $150,000. so far.

The complex costs are expected to be covered equally through fundraising, the municipality, and government grants.

Over the summer, Brockton council awarded $963,000. tender for the project by a vote of 4-3.

The project has received community backlash, including a 411-signature petition that was handed to council in May.

Volunteer Project Management Team member and Walkerton Football Club President Jeff Roberts says the project is something the community should be proud of.
