Perth Paramedic Chief Honoured

The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs honoured Perth County's Paramedic Chief with a leadership award.

Chief Linda Rockwood was chosen from nominees from across Ontario for the Richard J Armstrong Award.

Rockwood is one of the Province's the first female paramedic Chiefs.

Rockwood has been leading the Emergency Services Department for the County of Perth Since 2000.

Perth CAO Bill Arthur says it is great to have one of the county's leaders recognized by their peers for outstanding achievements .

“Chief Rockwood is known locally as a great leader, and now she has received provincial recognition” stated Julie Jeffrey, Perth EMS Quality Assurance Commander. Commander Jeffrey submitted her nomination on behalf of the team Chief Rockwood leads.

Perth County Council Warden Robert Wilhelm stated “We in Perth County who have had the opportunity to work with Linda over the years have long realized her strong leadership and dedication to our EMS team and she certainly is deserving of this award”

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
