Stolen Truck Torched In Huron Township

South Bruce OPP officers are looking for the driver of a stolen pickup truck set on fire this morning in Huron Township.

Just after 10:30am, the silver Dodge Ram was checked on Clinton St. in Teeswater and found to be a stolen vehicle.

Officers signaled the truck to stop, but the driver refused and fled the area at a high rate of speed.

Just before noon, police got a report of a vehicle fire along Concession 12 in Huron Township.

Officers attended and found the vehicle on fire, was the stolen truck observed in Teeswater, but there was no one near the truck.

Members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the OPP Canine unit, the Huron County OPP and the South Bruce OPP Crime unit attended to assist the South Bruce OPP in a search for the occupants of the truck.

Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
