Brockton Soccer Complex Gets Go-Ahead

Plans for the new Brockton Soccer Complex are moving ahead.

Council this week voted 5-1 to proceed after hearing that community fundraising efforts for the project have been very successful, topping $235,000.

That's well above the $150,000 threshold council wanted to see before proceeding with the project.

The complex costs are expected to be covered equally through fundraising, the municipality, and government grants.

Over the summer, Brockton council awarded a tender of $963,000 for the project.

A groundbreaking ceremony is expected sometime in the next week.
