Mount Forest Chamber Of Commerce Healthy

The Mount Forest District Chamber of Commerce is running a break-even operation and membership is holding fairly steady at about 135.

The annual general meeting held at the Mount Forest Legion Thursday, heard that chamber programs such as the community guide and the Fireworks Festival continue to be big money-makers for the organization and draw tens of thousands of people to town.

Chamber President David Ford told the audience that there will be stronger ties between the Mount Forest and Arthur Chambers of Commerce in the new year. Ford says the two chambers share common goals in Wellington North.

The chamber’s new community animator, Trish Wake, says she is looking to grow local volunteerism by 50 per cent.
